I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
